Aesthetic dentistry deals in particular with the smile. A beautiful smile is very important in the approach to others. To achieve it, a multidisciplinary approach is often needed that comes from an accurate analysis and a shared planning

There are several parameters that make a smile pleasant:

• a correct relationship between the teeth and the lips (In a young smile the upper central incisors are visible for their entire length + approximately 1 mm of overlying gum. The line of the incisal edges should follow the curvature of the lower lip)
• Teeth color: with age, teeth tend to yellow as the enamel that makes the tooth white wears away. But there are also teeth that are naturally darker. Whitening your teeth makes them look younger and more attractive.
• A correct line of the gums: symmetry especially in the central incisors makes the smile pleasant. Even recessions of the gums age the smile
• The shape and position of the teeth: the wear of the teeth due to age or bad habits or bruxism can lead to an alteration of the shape of the teeth themselves or to their displacement. Or the position may not be correct due to the presence of malocclusions

To evaluate all these aspects, we start by understanding what your needs are. We then examine your smile through a series of digital photographs with specialized cameras, we perform an intraoral scan with the optical scanner (digital impression). We need this data to do a case study and a Smile Design – digital smile design (see smile design). From this project, we try out in your mouth what the result could be through a mock-up (temporary prefiguration of the result) that you can see and judge directly so that you can make any necessary changes before making it. To achieve this, it may be necessary to have the collaboration of the orthodontist to move the teeth, of the prosthetist to perform, for example, ceramic veneers or crowns (see veneers and crowns) or of the conservative dentist who performs composite veneers or fillings, of the doctor if it is necessary to optimally manage the soft tissues, of the hygienist to perform whitening. We prefer the least invasive techniques. It is a team effort to get the best result in your mouth. There is no ideal smile for everyone but it must be your ideal smile!

It is a digital tool that, thanks to the use of software, allows you to see a “rendering” (virtual reconstruction) of your future smile, with a very realistic result, without having to start the treatment. We start from photos of the face and apply rules that follow beauty standards. Everything is created on the photo and then discussed with you.

Mocking: it is a reversible test that is performed directly in the mouth and allows you to evaluate the result and discuss any changes. The project to be created is printed with a material of a similar color to the tooth.
