The goal of dental treatment is to try to keep the teeth in your mouth by eliminating pathologies (caries, granulomas, gum problems) in the least invasive way possible. Aesthetics are also an important element and the restored tooth must be the same as a healthy tooth. It is also possible to simply improve the aesthetics of the teeth with small changes thanks to the new materials used in the study (composite veneers, ceramic veneers).

Aesthetic Fillings
Cavities are eliminated while maintaining the entire healthy part of the tooth. Cavities are filled with material of the same color as the tooth and modeled so that they are invisible. The same materials can be used to reconstruct missing parts of the teeth themselves or the reconstruction of the entire damaged tooth surface.
Composite-ceramic inlays
When the tooth destruction is very extensive, especially in areas subjected to heavy chewing loads such as on the back teeth, laboratory-made artifacts are used, after taking an impression of the appropriately prepared cavity. Even in this case, the result is such as to obtain a tooth indistinguishable from a natural tooth. The dentist will evaluate which is the best solution in each individual case.

La giovane paziente presentava una vecchia otturazione sull’incisivo centrale di sinistra (a destra nella foto). L’otturazione era stata fatta, in passato, per riparare la parte fratturata del dente. La vecchia otturazione è stata rimossa e sostituita con una nuova otturazione in resina composita estetica. Tutto il tessuto residuo del dente è stato mantenuto. Per permettere all’otturazione di integrarsi e mimetizzarsi, particolare attenzione è stata data al riproduzione della “tessitura superficiale” dello smalto del dente.

The patient had several decayed teeth; in addition, there were old damaged and infiltrated fillings. To restore the function and aesthetics of the smile, a very conservative approach was chosen: the old fillings were removed, the cavities were cleaned and the damaged parts were reconstructed using aesthetic composite resins.

The patient had a small, cone-shaped right lateral incisor (on the left in the photo). He had already been treated in the past at another dental practice, but the filling was damaged and leaked. The old filling was then removed and replaced with a new aesthetic composite resin reconstruction that allowed the tooth to have a natural appearance.

This 9-year-old boy, due to trauma, had fractured the edge of his central incisor. A reconstruction of the fractured part, made directly with aesthetic composite resin, allowed the little patient to smile again.
