Digital X-rays

Digital radiography, or digital x-rays, is a modern type of radiography that uses digital sensors instead of photographic film, as is the case with traditional x-rays. The captured image is immediately converted into digital data and is available for viewing within seconds. Digital x-rays have several advantages over other options:

  • Clarity

Ability to make adjustments to see certain aspects of the scan more clearly.

  • Speed ​​– results are available for immediate viewing.
  • Reduced radiation exposure – Digital X-rays not only produce high-definition images in seconds, but they do so with a lower dose of radiation, which is healthier for the patient.

TAC Cone Beam (CBTC)

3D Cone Beam CT (CBCT) is a modern radiological diagnostic methodology that allows the reproduction of sections of the examined object and then the generation of a three-dimensional image thanks to the images acquired by a digital sensor and processed by a computer.

The images are characterized by high spatial resolution and correspondence to anatomical reality (1:1 ratio).

It allows to evaluate the structures in a three-dimensional way. For example, it is possible to see the thickness of the bone and the position of the nerve for the positioning of the implants, the position of the roots of the included teeth with respect to the nerve, the presence and position of granulomas.

The machine can also perform dental orthopantomography. It is characterized by ease and speed of examination and by a low radiation dose but the images obtained are two-dimensional and therefore with problems of overlapping of the anatomical structures.

Compared to a Multi-Detector Computerized Tomography (Dentascan), the Cone Beam allows a shorter duration of the examination and above all by a reduced radiation dose.

Intraoral scanner

The digital impression allows you to avoid the use of impression pastes that are inserted into the mouth, often causing a sense of suffocation or vomiting. An intraoral scanner is used, which is a 3D scanner capable of detecting, through the first acquisition of a large number of images and then the subsequent re-elaboration using dedicated software, the dental impressions. The instrument is similar to a large pen that takes many photos. You obtain the three-dimensional image of the dental arches that can be used to plan the treatment. It becomes much easier to see your teeth and understand the problems that need to be solved

The images can be sent to the dental technician via the web and can also be sent to the patient! They can be used for Smile design (see Smile design in Aesthetic Dentistry), to visualize orthodontic movements, to compare changes in the teeth over time.

The cavitation effect of the saline solution leads to a surgical site free of bleeding and protects any type of soft tissue and therefore nerves, blood vessels or membranes will not be damaged.

In the field of tartar cleaning, the use of ultrasound allows a selective removal of harmful tartar by combining the use of vibrations with water cavitation. The cause of gum and periodontal disease is plaque. The most current, modern and minimally invasive way to remove it is through the use of powders – glycine or erythritol – which allow the preservation of tooth substance. They are also extremely effective on dental implants.

Whitening lamp

Teeth whitening can significantly improve the color of your teeth. The use of special high-intensity lamps allows you to obtain the best results!

Power bleaching, or photo-accelerated, uses the thermal effect of light energy to accelerate the whitening process, using lower concentrations and shorter times.

Nitrous oxide conscious sedation machine

Fear and anxiety of the dentist is an insurmountable problem for many. Even in children it can be very difficult to face demanding treatments.

Conscious sedation by inhalation can be the solution! The use of a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen by means of nasal masks induces a situation of pleasant mental and muscular relaxation with maintenance of active collaboration.

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas for its euphoric activity, shows its effects within a few minutes, but these cease after one minute from the end of the administration: you can return home driving your car in complete safety.

Nitrous oxide instills a sense of relaxation and well-being, you speak and respond, all reflexes are alert, only … only you are not afraid of the dentist.

Computer-guided implant planning

Thanks to the presence of a dedicated software, it is possible to combine the intraoral scan of the mouth with the cone beam CT. This allows to plan the position of the implants based on the position of the future teeth and to create masks that guide the implant surgery in order to be precise.
